Fun with cousins

We have had the privilege lately to spend some time with cousins. A few weekends ago we visited my cousin's family in Fresno and this Kaitlyn's cousins came into town for a vacation. Here's a snapshot into the fun that we had.

The benefits of living in a house...

We've made the move out of a condo and into a house. Some obvious benefits are more space (both living and storage), a yard, patio/BBQ, and garage. Now one thing I'm hoping for is home grown tomatoes. Nothing store bought can come close to matching one grown in your own garden. I've grown up eating my parents and grandpas vegetables, so this year I thought I'd give it a shot and grow my own. In addition to tomatoes, I also planted bell peppers, and two kinds of squash. Hopefully I have learned a thing or two about gardening from my elders.

Happy Mother's Day

For Mother's Day this year (just like last year) I had to work. I suppose that's part of working in the health care system. I did get some surprise visitors during my lunch break :) Kaitlyn made me a flower pot and card. This brought a tear to my eye when I saw it because it made me feel special and brought back memories of the little crafts I used to make for my parents when I was little. Sam put his culinary skills to work and made me breakfast, dinner, and dessert.....the best, of course, being dessert!
